The Perennial Rolex Submariner 50th Anniversary Edition Watch

One of the most famous luxury watches is the perennial Rolex Submariner. This is a remarkable timepiece that beautifully combines extreme elegance with ultimate avant-gardism. It is the type of watch that looks styling both on the wrist of a successful business man and on the one of an adventurous young man.

The world’s first Rolex Submariner was introduced at the 1954 Basel World show. Now, after decades of sustained performances in refined watchmaking, the Submariner is one of the most recognized models. Everyone knows how a Submariner looks like and everyone wants to own one.

When the Submariner turned 50 years, Rolex celebrated its anniversary with the launch of the beautiful Rolex Submariner 50th Anniversary Edition. This was in 2004 and the success of the anniversary model was a huge success. Its Black and Green design was embraced by all Rolex fans. The watch preserves the unique Submariner look, but enhances it with a sleek black dial and a deep green ceramic bezel.

Most people can not notice the differences between an usual Submariner and the 50th Anniversary Edition. The most important thing are the signature “Maxi Dial” white hour markers that are larger than on a regular Submariner- these are also used on the Yacht Master.  The hands have a higher legibility due to their more pronounced thickness. Also, the green ceramic bezel was at that time a true novelty for the Rolex Submariner as the classic black dial Submariner used to have a black stainless steel bezel.

For the past decades, the Rolex Submariner has been the symbol of extreme diving performances and it has set an unprecedented quality standard. The unique characteristics that have turned the Rolex Submariner into a success are the excellence of the inside mechanism and the originality of its design. The Rolex Submariner 50th Anniversary has celebrated 50 years of remarkable performances and a fame without rivalry.
